The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce proudly marks its 187th anniversary on 25th March, reflecting a long-standing commitment to supporting Sri Lanka’s businesses and contributing to the country’s progress.
Commenting on this milestone, Chairman Krishan Balendra said “for 187 years, the Chamber has been guided by a simple principle – putting Sri Lanka first. In today’s evolving global landscape, shaped by shifting geopolitical dynamics and economic uncertainty, this means supporting businesses to navigate change, strengthening our economic foundations, and ensuring Sri Lanka remains competitive and connected to the world.’
Over the past year, the Chamber has worked closely with public and private sector stakeholders to navigate challenges, support recovery, and create new opportunities. Its efforts across policy advocacy, engagement, and market access continue to strengthen the business environment and expand opportunities for Sri Lankan enterprises.
