The Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) has officially announced the launch of WCIC PRATHIBHABHISHEKA – Women Entrepreneur Awards 2026, inviting women entrepreneurs from across Sri Lanka and the SAARC region to apply for the country’s most prestigious business recognition program.
Building on the success of recent editions, the awards continue to celebrate women who have demonstrated business excellence, resilience, innovation and leadership while making meaningful contributions to Sri Lanka’s economic growth.
Speaking at the launch, Gayani De Alwis, Chairperson of the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce, said,
“WCIC Prathibhabhisheka has grown into the country’s foremost platform dedicated to recognizing women entrepreneurs who continue to transform industries, create employment and strengthen the national economy. As we launch the 2026 edition, we once again invite women entrepreneurs from every corner of Sri Lanka to showcase their journeys and inspire the next generation of business leaders. The success stories of our past winners demonstrate the impact this recognition creates for both entrepreneurs and their businesses.”
The previous edition attracted over 100 applications representing businesses of every scale, with participants from all nine provinces. A total of 47 awards were presented, including Overall Awards, Category Awards, Provincial Awards and Special Recognition Awards, reaffirming the program’s position as Sri Lanka’s national benchmark for recognizing women in business.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Co-Chairs Nilani Seneviratne and Wathsala Wiickramanayake said,
“Each year, we witness stronger participation from women entrepreneurs across the country, reflecting the growing confidence and ambition of Sri Lankan women in business. Beyond recognizing achievements, Prathibhabhisheka provides entrepreneurs with visibility, credibility, valuable networks and opportunities for future growth. We encourage women-led businesses, from promising start-ups to established enterprises, to be part of this year’s journey.”
Applications are now open under the Start-up, Micro, Small, Medium and Large business categories. In addition to category awards, outstanding applicants will be considered for several prestigious special awards, culminating in the presentation of the coveted Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2026 title.
The program also continues its commitment to recognizing entrepreneurship across the country through provincial recognition while providing a platform for women entrepreneurs from the SAARC region to compete under the international category.
Interested applicants can download the application from www.wcicsl.lk in the language they prefer or request an application directly from the WCIC office. Completed applications, together with the required supporting documentation, should be submitted before the closing date, which will be announced shortly.
