Atlas, the leading learning brand in Sri Lanka, recently held its annual Atlas Sipsavi Ridee Viharaya Donation on at the historic Ridee Viharaya in Kurunegala, reaffirming the company’s long-standing commitment to support equal access to education across Sri Lanka. Driven by the brand’s broader purpose of “Making Learning Fun,” the Atlas SipSavi programme reinforces the brand’s commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind, at a time when more than 22,000 children discontinue schooling each year due to financial hardship. Through this initiative, the brand continues to support programmes that expand access to education, provide essential learning tools, and create inclusive learning environments for children across Sri Lanka.
This event marked the 23rd consecutive year that Atlas has joined hands with the historic Ridee Viharaya to safeguard the education rights of children in Sri Lanka by providing essential school supplies and learning materials. Through the Sipsavi Ridee Viharaya Donation, Atlas has supported more than 53,000 students to date and this year, a further 4,000 students will benefit from the initiative, receiving the school supplies and tools they need to begin their academic year with confidence.
According to national data, financial limitations continue to be a major cause of educational discontinuation, with 52% of school dropouts citing financial constraints as the primary reason. The Atlas Sipsavi initiative directly addresses this challenge by providing sustained support for students facing financial hardships through school supplies, scholarships, and infrastructure development that enhances learning environments.
The brands sustained efforts reflect its commitment to creating a more inclusive, better-equipped future for Sri Lanka’s younger generation and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
